Cardiff Children’s Literature Festival

The Cardiff Children’s Literature Festival takes place from Saturday 21st to Saturday 28th April 2018, from 11am until 8pm on Saturdays, with the main venue being Cardiff City Hall. This is the sixth year of the festival, catering for children from the age of three and upwards. It incorporates more than forty ticketed events held at various venues across the city including Cardiff City Hall, Cardiff Central Library, the Reardon Smith Theatre situated in the National Museum Wales, Cardiff Story and Cardiff Castle. There is also a programme of school events that are held midweek and free craft sessions.

Ticket prices range from £2 to £5.

Welsh Vegan Festival

The Welsh Vegan Festival runs from 10.30 am to 5pm on Saturday 19th May 2018 at the Tramshed, Clare Road, Cardiff, CF11 6QP. There are around one hundred stalls, mostly showcasing vegan food, although there will also be clothing, beauty, wellness and charity stalls for visitors to the festival to browse. In addition to the stalls, talks will also take place throughout the day. The festival aims to promote sustainability, a vegan diet and animal welfare. Profits from the festival will go to the animal charity that organises the event and helps to re-home and care for rescue animals.

Tickets are £3 on the door, although VIP tickets can be booked by email to events@farplace.org.uk.

Depot in the Castle

This summer’s awesome Depot in the Castle festival takes place this year on Saturday, June 2nd 2018. The event is held in the grounds of Cardiff Castle and is a family festival with no age restrictions so there will be plenty to keep everyone entertained including Daisy’s dressing up box, many children’s activities and plenty of glitter. A wide range of street food will be available from the food stalls. There will be live music from the Fratellis and Sister Sledge with plenty of support from acts such as Fleetmac Wood and The Hackney Colliery Band.

Early bird tickets have already sold out, but standard tickets are available for £37.43, kids tickets for 12 to 17-year-olds are £16.50 and under 12s are free when accompanied by an adult.
